I am married to Joanne, and have two sons, Paul and Mark. I am deeply committed to ministering to families and especially to letting children and youth know about the incredible love of our amazing Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I believe that genuine faith must be lived out in loving relationships and concrete actions. God has chosen the church to change the world, and it is an honor to be part of that work.
I grew up in Huntington with three siblings and attended St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Huntington Station. My faith was nourished by family and church mentors. By my sophomore year at Amherst College, I knew I wanted to serve Jesus. After earning a BA in English, I worked as a substitute teacher, youth director at Huntington Baptist Church, and coached high school sports while taking seminary classes at Alliance Theological Seminary in Nyack.
After eight years in youth ministry, I felt called to pastoral work. While completing my Master of Divinity degree, I sought guidance on my denominational path. Coming as pulpit supply pastor to East Northport, I discovered the Evangelical Covenant Church, which brought together the best aspects from the various denominations I had experienced. I have served this congregation since fall 1988 and love the challenges, the opportunities, the ministry, the people, and most of all, serving the Lord.
